piCture pOlish blog fest - Fairy Floss

Hello nail polish fans! I'm pleased to participating in Picture Polish's Blog Fest. Over 60 bloggers from around the word are participating and featuring all of PP's shades today!! I think it's a great way for a nail polish company to show the public what they got. I know I LOVE being able to see the polishes on the nail before purchasing. Really, all nail polish companies should have on the nail examples, don't you think? Plus it's nice to know what other nail polish fanatics think about the formulation and colour too. So with out further adieu here is the shade I am reviewing: Fairy Floss.

This polish is a very pretty pink. It instantly reminded my of OPI Done Out in Deco - mostly because I don't have a ton of pink polishes. But when I pulled DOiD out Fairy Floss is darker and more warm toned. Fairy Floss was easy to apply and this is 2 coats which is super awesome for a light pink. Generally, you need to coat light pinks on in 3 or 4 layers. So opaque in 2 is great! Overall, I like this polish. I would have to say the colour is not overly original but it's a lovely pink cream and it has a great formulation.

Hey everyone! Did ya'll miss me? I've been MIA, busy with life. Less time for nails! Shocking and terrifying at the same time! Ha! So this bad boy has been quite a lemming for me and I got it in a swap a while back. I thought it was beautiful in the bottle but I didn't get around to trying it because I was swimming in other beautiful untried polishes. (Such a hard life!) Oh this polish is marvelous! It's very similar type of polish to China Glaze Atlantis. They both have such a beautiful depth. I really love this polish but I didn't end up wearing it long because it chipped the next day. Horrible. I'm not sure if it's just chippy because it's a glitter or what. I find glitters very chippy. I have noticed my nails are not so great at the moment. I'm nursing my babies so my nails and my hair is in super bad shape. Oh well. It won't last forever. Them babies are almost a year. How time flies.

Look what came in the mail. It's been a long wait thanks to the postal strike. Plus I was out when they first delivered. Plus I was too busy to apply any nail polish. BUT LOOK! These are so beautiful. These are hands down the most beautiful holographic nail polishes I own. They are a pain to apply but if you use aqua base there is no problems at all. It is so worth it. It's funny because they are not holo looking in the bottle.

Even when they are first applied to the nail and still wet it is dull but they sure do dry up into amazing-ness. I am so pleased. Hooray! Here is my first mani.

I was expecting the colour to be more nude. It looks like a perfect light peachy pink on me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this colour. Very pleasantly surprised! The rainbow is so gorgeous and it shows up in all kinds of light. Meaning that you don't need to wait for full sun, although it is best and brightest in sunlight. Whooa LOVE!

China Glaze Emerald Sparkle

This polish has been around for quite sometime but as I don't/didn't really have a place to get China Glazes I've not had the chance to pick it up. I found a salon that had a bunch of polishes in a bin so I went through and found this along with these others: OPI Sapphire in the Snow, CG Gussied Up Green, CG Rodeo Fanatic, CG DV8, CG 2NITE, CG LOL, CG GR8.
I was so excited to see these in the wild! Anyway Emerald Sparkle is perfection! Its a fantastic emerald colour and this is two easy and lovely coats. It's just like China Glaze Ruby Pumps, only green. I hope one day that I can collect a rainbow of similar colours. I have red, green and blue so far. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for more for sure.

Got this polish at Winners. The shimmer reminded me of Clarins 230 so I thought I'd try it. Turns out that the shimmer is very subtle and I'm not that into subtle shimmers... It looks like a dark plum cream in most light and you can't see the shimmer. It looks nicer in the pictures then in real life IMO. I think the purple looks kinda dated. It reminds me of the late 90s and not in a good way. I think I'll top it with Clarins 230 to try and save the effort but this one is not a favourite. There are not many polishes in my stash that I don't really love. I guess I'll try to swap this one.

Joe Fresh Ballet Slipper

So the Canucks lost the Stanley Cup to Boston last night. Disappointing. What is more disappointing is the riots/looting and distruction in Vancouver last night. Sadly, I highly doubt the outcome would have been much different had Vancouver won. I've seen the photos and the video and I can't believe that stuff actually happens! It makes me angry to see these people act so violently and feel so good about it. I wonder what makes these people tick? It is deeply sadening to me and I hope people don't think this is the way Canadians and Vancouverites normally behave. I am proud of the civilans that tried to stand up to the rioters. It's really scary to try and be the voice of reason in a sea of crazies.

Anywho, how about some pretty nail polish?!



Joe Fresh Ballet Slipper
Another Ballet Slipper! This one is singular though! Mmmm the colour is pretty much the same as Essie's. They are both very sheer. This is 3 coats. Not as opaque as Essie Ballet Slippers. I like Essie's formula better.

I am so happy about this polish! This is the vibrant orangey-red I've been look for. It's soo in your face bold. I love it. It's says "I'm-so-cheap-but-in-a-hip-way" I bet the hipsters LOVE this colour too. Anyway, this was 2 easy coats. I call this a jelly because it's too shinny to be a straight cream. It's an opaque jelly, which is the best kind IMO! Also, I filed my nails back to a rounder shape. I can't fight it. It's just the way they want to be. Fashion be damned! What do you think of this red? How do you like it compared to Essie Meet me at Sunset?
